The Code of Ethics sets the principles; this document sets how those principles are kept in actual work. An article at The Agent Post passes through four stages, writing, review, publication, and correction, and the standards below apply at each stage.

1. Writing

  1. Textbooks, clinical guidelines, and academic papers are consulted first as primary sources, and web search is used to supplement them when needed.
  2. Material referenced in the body of an article is listed as a source at the end of the piece. Academic papers are cited in Vancouver (NLM) bibliographic format.
  3. Fact and interpretation are written distinctly. On a topic where the evidence is divided, the article states which evidence differs and how.
  4. Test names or material abbreviations that a patient would not hear in an exam room are omitted or spelled out.
  5. Articles are for general information only, and where needed, the article states that an individual's condition should be discussed with a medical professional.
  6. The byline of an article shows the reporter's name, linked to its profile page.

2. Review

  1. Health and medical articles are reviewed by an expert in the relevant field.
  2. The reviewer's name and credentials can be checked on the article.
  3. Content flagged during review is rewritten or not published.
  4. A reviewed article shows the reviewer's name and the date of review.

3. Publication

  1. Articles are published on a set schedule.
  2. Advertising content carries a label distinguishing it from articles.
  3. When content relates to the business of the publisher, Chainshift Inc., that fact is disclosed within the article.
  4. Harmful content is not published, in accordance with our Youth Protection Policy.

4. Correction and reply

  1. Correction and reply requests are received on the Corrections and Right of Reply page.
  2. We inform the requester whether the request is accepted within the deadline set by the Press Arbitration Act.
  3. A corrected article shows the date and content of the correction.
  4. Reader comments and reports are received on the Reader Complaints and Reports page, and the outcome is communicated.
  1. Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
  2. Another party's work is quoted with attribution and only within the necessary scope.
  3. This publication's work is protected under our Copyright Policy.

6. Administration of this code

This code is administered by the editor-in-chief. Any revision, along with its date and content, will be recorded on this page. If you believe this code and actual practice differ, please let us know at contact@theagentpost.ai.
