The problem

Many people now ask AI instead of typing into a search box. AI builds its answers on writing that exists somewhere, so if the underlying writing is inaccurate, the answer is inaccurate too. This is especially true for topics like health, where wrong information can cause harm.

The Agent Post was started to produce writing that AI can cite: writing where the facts are clear, the sources can be checked, and a person has reviewed it.

Three missions

We want well-sourced answers to come back

We want a reader who asks AI a question to get back a well-sourced answer, and we want the source behind it to be this publication. That is why every article carries its sources, and why key facts are also provided in a form machines can read.

We publish only what experts have verified

That is why an expert in the relevant field reviews the content before publication, and the reviewer's name and the date of review are shown on the article.

We write so it can be read as a newspaper

Writing meant only for machines is a data feed, not a newspaper. We write with an editorial point of view, in the grammar of a newspaper, in language readers can understand. Abbreviations or technical terms not used in an exam room are spelled out.

What we do not do

  • We do not present ourselves as a general news outlet. We cover only fields we know well and can review.
  • We do not compete on breaking news. We put accuracy ahead of speed.
  • We do not disguise advertising as articles. Advertising and sponsorship are labeled as such.

How we keep this mission

This mission is put into practice through the principles of the Code of Ethics and the procedures of the Code of Practice. When an article contains an error, we correct it through the Corrections and Right of Reply procedure.
